How can composite bonding improve your smile?

DISCOLOURATION

Cosmetic bonding can help restore the natural shade of your teeth if one or a few of them are discoloured.

PROTECTING THE ROOTS

If your gums are receding, it can cause your teethÎs sensitive roots to be painfully exposed. Composite bonding can provide a protective barrier to ease the pain and prevent further damage.

REPAIR

Composite materials that are strong and long-lasting are ideal for repairing chips, cracks, and breaks. They also help to protect your teeth against further damage.

CLOSING GAPS

Composite bonding is a quick and cost-efficient option for closing minor gaps in your teeth.

REPAIRING WORN TEETH

If your teeth appear too small due to wear, composite bonding can help lengthen them and restore your smile to better proportions.

How composite bonding works

Composite bonding is a composite resin that is moulded and polished to fit with your surrounding teeth. The resin is matched to the existing colour of your teeth, giving a seamless appearance and once shaped and trimmed perfectly, will be hardened and secured in place using a UV light or laser.

Only the outer layer of enamel is ever worked on, so the procedure is non-invasive. A scan of your teeth may be required prior to undergoing the work to establish the best way to apply the resin to ensure its longevity.

If you have small to medium gaps between your teeth, they are easily filled using the resin which is then shaped, lengthened and polished by our skilled dental practitioners.

Composite bonding is a cost-effective alternative to more permanent solutions such as veneers and achieves instant results.

Composite bonding FAQs

HOW DO I LOOK AFTER MY TEETH AFTER COMPOSITE BONDING?
Good oral hygiene is essential to maintain the look and condition of your composite bonding treatment. Brush your teeth twice a day and floss daily. We also recommend visiting Parrock Dental for a dental hygiene appointment twice a year where our hygienist will remove any stains, rebuff, re-sparkle and refresh the bonding.
ARE THERE ANY RISKS WITH COMPOSITE BONDING?
Bonding is a minimally invasive procedure and your dentist will very rarely need to damage the underlying tooth in any way. Instead, the composite resin is layered over your natural tooth, so the risk of nerve damage or discomfort is practically eliminated.
